Are You F*!&ing Kidding Me?!?!?

You may want to mark this date down, because I am almost speechless. Please read this story. It redefines the word "ridiculous". It's the kind of thing where if it happened in a movie, everyone would talk about how far-fetched and unrealistic it was. If it happened on April 1st, you'd be absolutely certain that it was an April Fool's Day joke. And if you got this story forwarded to you on any other day, you'd be positive that it was from The Onion.

This is my favorite part of the story (which makes absolutely no sense if you haven't read it yet): "Democrats scored a tactical victory by seizing the official Senate gavel, which is large and made of black walnut, its whack echoing through the chamber with authority. Senator George H. Winner Jr., who was presiding over the Republican session, was left to peck the table in front of him with a small gavel used by Republicans for their private conferences.
“It’s better than the eyeglass case I was using before,” Mr. Winner said."

I giggled my way through that whole article, and laughed loudly at the part about the gavel.

One of the things that blew my mind was the sheer amount of legislation that got passed. "Democrats had passed 14 bills and Republicans had passed 85." Holy crap. Were each of those 99 votes about 31-0? And exactly how many bills does one side have at the ready just in case they are presented with no opposition.
And how do you have the TIME to pass 85 votes. I mean, the reading and the voting and the motioning has to take up some time, right? So it was just speed voting?

In an unrelated story, when Fox News first reported the story of the SC Governor's infidelity, they had him labeled on-screen as (D). This is at least the third documented time they've changed a Republican's party affiliation post-scandal (or I guess in this case, mid-scandal.)

Wow, that really is ridiculous. I have come to this realization though (and why it's a revelation, I don't know... it's obvious but I guess I've been in denial)... that people are as petty and warring and unwieldy as they've ever been, and will always be so. Short of genetic engineering, all we can do is work with them as they are without hoping to change them. (And I actually doubt you could engineer an animal that wasn't... well, an animal, you know? ....... blah I haven't had an intelligent conversation in WEEKS... pardon the intrusion. :S )

On an unrelated note, why have I not fully appreciated the awesomeness that is Steve Perry until now?

And this has got to be the best video ever. Tee hee! I don't know why but I was giggling through most of it. Okay, I'll stop ruining John's nicely thought-out blog post.

It is not often you get to see an air-keyboard.
